Florida is headed in the right direction and we will continue to move full force ahead

"As we head into the holiday season, it's great to see we continue to move in the right direction when it comes to job creation and getting people back to work. The businesses in our state have created more than 100,000 jobs so far this year. I'm going to do everything I can to keep attracting businesses here and help those here already thrive so we can continue to see this growth."- Governor Rick Scott

  • Provide flexible funding to allow the state to quickly and efficiently respond to job creation opportunities
  • Continue the streamlining of economic development programs by consolidating film marketing with the marketing programs administered by Enterprise Florida
"Job creation is the No. 1 priority of Scott -- and it should be."

  • Support Florida's military and returning service members by providing specialized job matching and training
  • Propose the creation of the Florida Business Permit Dashboard, a web portal that allows the private and public sectors to track the time required to obtain the permits needed to locate or expand a business in the state
  • Support the maintenance and development of Florida's transportation infrastructure
  • Provide small cities and rural communities with housing, commercial and neighborhood revitalization, and economic development support
  • Change the unemployment compensation program to a reemployment assistance program and refocus workforce programs on providing job-seekers with reemployment assistance
  • Propose reforming the state's 24 regional workforce boards by providing additional oversight authority and beginning the process of rebranding and realigning the boards, which will increase the accountability and efficiency of the state's workforce system
